We’ve had another busy year at Family Solutions, down to the dedication of the whole team, we all contribute to the success of the firm.
In April Rebecca and Jo took part in the London Marathon, raising £5000 which we’re using to support our families and children, by providing family, play and mediation therapy. Jo ran for Parkinson’s UK.
At the beginning of the year we welcomed Kimberley to the team. A psychotherapist, she provides wellbeing and emotional support to clients and families going through the challenges of separation and change. She’s already building a successful practice, and has supported 14 families with standalone therapy, and has been involved with more than 20 families in mediation.
Debbie achieved accredited mediator status, no mean feat completing the hours required whilst maintaining her busy case load. The assessor commented “This is a truly excellent portfolio. It is well presented, easy to navigate and has covered all competences and elements that the FMC require”.
We’ve continued with our pro bono package for Tidal Family Support in Ryde. Rebecca and Helen provide them with help on strategy and run training courses, and as a Family Supervisor, Rebecca offers a confidential ear to staff there. Tidal Family Support are a fabulous community based, not for profit, child-focused Charity based on the Isle of Wight, that works with families who are directly impacted by separation or divorce. The help and space they give families with children is vital. If you feel you could offer funds or ‘in kind’ support, please let us know.
The firm also continues to support Resolution, the FMC and the FMA with committee work. On top of that, Claire was appointed to the FMA board in November, Rebecca was appointed to the FMC Assessor’s Panel and has been invited to sit on the Resolution ‘Code in Practice’ working party. Claire and Rebecca have attended conferences in Jersey, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester and events throughout the year, working to promote non court approaches for families undergoing change.
Our training arm is growing, Rebecca is on the Resolution Mediation Foundation Training course team and Claire has recently joined FMA team for Integrated Mediation. We have big and exciting plans for the continued development of training for professionals in 2025.
and we have much more to come in 2025 – we’re working on some exciting plans, so watch this space!
